Titirangi is New Zealand’s only course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, the renowned architect whose work includes Augusta National, Cypress Point and Royal Melbourne. Situated in west Auckland, the course occupies gently rolling terrain where mature trees frame many of the holes and create a sense of seclusion uncommon for a course so close to the country’s largest city.
The course is defined by the quality of its green complexes and bunkering, both of which embody MacKenzie’s enduring design principles of strategic freedom and thoughtful decision-making. Approaches can be played in a variety of ways, though finding the correct position from the tee remains essential to unlocking the best angles into the greens.
